Beethoven's Serenade for Flute, Viola, and Guitar, Op. 26
Wenzel Thomas Matiegka, arr.
Featuring guest artist Chris Kachian
In partnership with the American Swedish Institute (ASI), we are delighted to present a "Schubertiade" style concert focusing on Scandinavian music, and the influences of classical European Masters as well as Scandinavian folk traditions. Susan Billmeyer, pianist and co-artistic director, researched this often overlooked corner of chamber music and created a concert including each member of our diverse ensemble, as well as returning guest artist Christopher Kachian, guitar.
From Larsson's delicate Aubade to Berwald's romantic Quartet and the ultra-rare arrangement of Beethoven's Serenade set for guitar, viola, and flute, you will be delighted by a variety of works performed by world class musicians - and all while enjoying drinks and Hors d'oeuvres in the beautiful Turnblad Mansion Ballroom.
The Turnblad Mansion is fully ADA accessible, and for the first time we are making available no-cost tickets because of the support of MRAC. Visit ASI's box office for more information.
Plus! For this concert we will be creating a number of pre-concert videos and interviews documenting our research and rehearsal process. Stay tuned for more information as the concert date approaches.
